Celebrating International Women's Day - March 8, 2023
International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. This year's theme is Embrace Equity. Worldwide groups come together to celebrate women's achievements or rally for women's equality.
We suggest that participants celebrate with champagne or wine - we will have a special toast that celebrates women all over the world.
The International Women's Day colors are purple, green and white. Wearing those colors on March 8 shows International Women's Power!

International Women's Day Presentation (Powerpoint)
On March 8, 2023, Quota USA members and guests met via Zoom for a special presentation from Ms. Charlene Marshall in celebration of International Women's Day. Ms. Marshall discussed her inspiring story as she served as a member of Morgantown City Council, Mayor of Morgantown, and in the WV House of Delegates. She was elected for seven terms as the first Black female mayor of West Virginia and was an effective advocate for human rights and education, issues affecting the elderly, and working people. In 1994, she was selected as Mayor of the Year by the West Virginia Municipal League. Thank you to all of our members who participated in the meeting. Congratulations to Shelley Welch from the Quota USA Morgantown Club, winner of the $100 Amazon gift card! Meeting Recording |
